#1 - ‘SOCK’TOBER
We are beginning our next Mindset called We Are Connected. A great way to help and connect with others would be to collect new socks and bring them to school. We’re launching our “Socktober” program this Friday, October, 12th, by having Crazy Sock Day!
October 15th – Students can begin to bring in pairs of new, unused socks to donate to the homeless shelter. I will connect them and fill in a class graph to keep track of the donations!
We appreciate your help with this! Just think of all the warm feet walking around Atlanta this winter!
Please send in your new socks by Wednesday, October 31, 2018. Thank you!
#2 Another Opportunity is to help North Fulton Community Charities Warm Coat Drive
Help us keep families warm this winter with coats and jackets!
Donate new or gently used coats and jackets in the front lobby of Dolvin from October 17th through October 24th!
Reading Tip: Once is not enough
Encourage your child to re-read favorite books and poems. Re-reading helps kids read more quickly and accurately.
We have finished Semester 1 and our now entering Semester 2! It’s crazy how fast the beginning of year has gone and now we’re in the 2nd round of the great adventure in 1st grade. This semester we’ll be digging deeper, trying new things, and growing our little minds.
I’m proud of the work that has been done and look forward to seeing how your child continues to grow!! We’re building foundational skills in 1st grade and excelling to their next level of learning.
